3.1.7. Final collector

Removal and installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the battery from weight.
2. Remove the air filter (if the filter is mounted over a collector) and the stream speed sensor.
3. Disconnect wires from candles and take aside.
4. Designate, disconnect and take aside all wires and hoses which complicate access to a collector. Disconnect wires from the oxygen sensor (if it is provided).

5. Lift a forward part of the car and establish on supports. Working under the car, disconnect a forward exhaust pipe. Disconnect nuts of fastening of a forward exhaust pipe (the M20 engine – the drawing at the left) and a flange of a forward exhaust pipe (the M40 engine – the drawing on the right).
6. Lower the car and turn off bolts and nuts of a collector, having begun with the periphery and being displaced to the center. Moisten fastenings with the getting liquid.
7. Remove a final collector, having taken measures to damaging the oxygen sensor (M40 engine).
8. Remove laying of a final collector (M40 engine).
9. Remove laying of a forward exhaust pipe to a collector.
10. Clear a collector of the consolidation remains, check a condition of carvings of hairpins of a collector.
11. Check existence on a collector of cracks, a buckling of the plane and other damages. Repair the damaged collector or it is ground or replace.
12. Establish a collector upside-down, having replaced laying. Tighten bolts and nuts, tighten them with the set moment, being displaced from the center to the periphery.
