Check existence of corrosion on terminal connections, cracks, or weakening of fastening.
At detection of corrosion wash out the struck place water solution of baking soda. Grease plugs with jellied lubricant to prevent further corrosion.
Tighten nuts of plugs, the excessive inhaling is not allowed.
Tighten a bracket of fastening of the battery, the excessive inhaling is not allowed in order to avoid damage of the case of the battery.
Prevention
Before service of the battery stop the engine and switch-off all electric devices.
When checking disconnect the battery from weight first of all, and connect to weight in the last turn. Be careful of short circuit of the battery the tool.
Exclude hit in the solution battery for washing.
Check of level of electrolyte
The car is completed as served, and unattended batteries. The last have a brand in the top part (Maintenance Free), care of such batteries is not required.
On the served batteries
Level of electrolyte has to be between marks in the battery case. If the battery is equipped with the built-in areometer, then be guided by indications of the areometer.
On unattended batteries
The condition of the battery is controlled on the built-in areometer. |
